Overview of the Lead Commercial Lines Pricing Analyst role

We’re currently partnered with a growing mutual organisation that is looking for an experienced Lead Commercial Lines Pricing Analyst to join their expanding Pricing team at an exciting point in a major transformation programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and technically strong Pricing Analyst to join a people-focused organisation where pricing plays a key role in supporting customers, communities and the wider business.

As a Lead Commercial Lines Pricing Analyst, you’ll act as a technical role model within the Pricing function, leading complex analysis, developing pricing models and turning data into meaningful insights that support key business decisions.

Key responsibilities of the Lead Commercial Lines Pricing Analyst will include

  • Lead complex analytical projects and deliver high-quality analysis to support key business decisions
  • Develop, enhance and implement pricing models across different lines of business
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Develop and improve pricing models, rating structures and reporting
  • Ensure pricing remains accurate, fair and sustainable
  • Work closely with colleagues across Pricing, Underwriting and wider stakeholder groups
  • Contribute to strategic projects and major transformation initiatives
  • Promote best practice and drive continuous improvement across pricing analytics
  • Translate complex data and analytical findings into clear and actionable insights
  • Act as a technical role model, supporting colleagues and helping to build technical capability across the wider team
  • Identify opportunities to improve analytical approaches, processes and tools

Required experience/qualifications of the Lead Commercial Lines Pricing Analyst position will include

  • Strong experience within Pricing, Data Science or a similar analytical environment
  • Experience working within General Insurance would be particularly valuable
  • Strong understanding of analytical and modelling techniques, with the ability to apply these to complex business problems
  • Experience working with large datasets and using data to identify trends and commercial opportunities
  • Experience with tools such as Radar, Emblem, SQL, R or Python would be beneficial
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts clearly
  • Naturally curious, with a genuine interest in developing technical expertise and improving analytical approaches
  • Experience supporting, coaching or mentoring colleagues would be advantageous
