Are you an experienced Finance Business Partner looking for the next challenge in your career? My client is looking for someone to support the Strategic Finance Business Partner in providing financial support and assistance to the Council’s solely owned local authorities. You will play a key role in providing financial insights and support to the various stakeholders.

As the Finance Business Partner, you will support with the annual closure of accounts in accordance with IFRS. You will play a significant role in co-ordinating and preparing financial reports for the company’s wholly owned by the council.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner:
  • Support in the production and closure of accounts for council owned companies
  • Co-ordinate and prepare financial reports for the council’s companies
  • Deliver financial insights, advice and accountancy support for a portfolio area
  • Work with senior stakeholders to prepare and monitor budgets
  • Act as a strategic advisor to managers to drive more informed decision making
  • Participate in the council’s ongoing cost reduction programme
Required skills and experience of the Finance Business Partner:
  • Fully Qualified Accountant or working towards qualification
  • Previous experience in a public sector finance role
  • Knowledge of accounting regulations
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrable experience of constructing financial reports
  • Capable of managing a varied and demanding workload
