The predicted salary is between 40.5 - 49.5 Β£ per hour.

Sellick Partnership are recruiting to a fantastic opportunity within a well-respected London Council for a Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer. The assignment will begin on an initial 3 month contract, but will be extended on a rolling basis. This role is full-time, and the successful Contracts Lawyer will be required to attend the offices in London one or two days per week, although there is some flexibility on this.

Our client is looking for a Contracts & Procurement Lawyer with hands-on experience working within the Public Sector, ideally within a Local Authority. This role would be suited to a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of public procurement and experience of Construction, including, but not limited to:

  • JCT and NEC Contracts
  • Advising on construction with good IT skills and experience of using JCT construction software
  • Provide legal advice and assistance on Contracts, Procurement, Corporate and Commercial Law, Data Protection and Competition Law
  • Provide advice to Council on the implementation and application of GDPR in respect of their Contracts
  • Act on behalf of the Council in respect of the procurement of various contracts including contracts for Works and Services, Concession Contracts, Waste Contracts, Building and Construction Contracts and Back to Back Agreements
  • Advise on the interpretation of Contracts and other legal documentation and responsible for carrying out complex drafting and the execution and completion of contracts

The successful Contracts & Procurement Lawyer will be joining a really friendly and supportive team, and on offer is a competitive hourly rate and flexible working arrangements. They will have autonomy over their own caseload, therefore this role would be suited to a candidate with experience of the above.
