We are seeking an experienced Contract Management Lead or Category Management Lead to support a major transformation programme within a public sector organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished commercial professional with extensive experience of delivering procurement, contract management and category management improvements while embedding sustainable, long-term change across complex organisations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead strategic commercial transformation initiatives.
- Deliver improved commercial outcomes through effective governance, process assurance and knowledge transfer.
- Design and implement contract management strategies, methodologies and frameworks across the organisation.
- Develop and embed category management methodologies to identify both immediate and long-term savings opportunities.
- Deliver training, coaching and mentoring programmes to build internal capability.
- Implement contract segmentation models, including gold, silver and bronze classifications, and establish appropriate management frameworks for each category.
- Design and introduce standardised templates, guidance documents and processes to ensure consistency across teams.
- Work closely with procurement teams and senior stakeholders to embed lasting improvements.
Essential skills and experience
- Proven experience leading commercial transformation programmes.
- Strong background in public sector procurement, contract management and category management.
- Demonstrable experience delivering sustainable improvements and embedding organisational change.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, governance and commercial best practice.
- Experience designing and delivering training and mentoring programmes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
