We are delighted to be recruiting to this brilliant Principal Criminal Litigation Lawyer role with our London Council client. They are seeking an experienced criminal litigation lawyer to join their friendly and collaborative team on a permanent basis who will manage the team alongside a varied caseload of criminal litigation work. This role requires attendance, once-twice per week ideally and their preference is candidates who are able to work full-time hours. This is a brilliant opportunity for a personable Criminal Litigation lawyer with a local authority background to step up to a managerial role.
Key responsibilities of the Principal Criminal Litigation Lawyer:
- Assisting with the management of around 10 legal professionals
- Carrying a varied caseload of Criminal Litigation matters
- Attend licensing committees as required
- Conducting court work in the magistrates’ court as required
- Supporting good cross team working with Principal Lawyers from other teams, where appropriate
- Maintaining client care standards
Experience/qualifications required for the Principal Criminal Litigation position:
- You must be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx (ideally with higher rights)) ideally with 5 years PQE
- Able to work on a hybrid basis with ideally two days per week in the office, our client is seeking someone who is able to work full-time – part-time requests will be considered
- You must have experience in criminal litigation from local authority
- Recent supervision/management experience would be ideal but our client is happy to consider candidates wanting to progress in their career
