We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in the West Midlands, that is recruiting for a Childcare Solicitor to join their team on a 3-4 month locum basis, with opportunities for an extension beyond. The client is able to consider a 4 or 5 day working week. Applicants must be Midlands based, as attendance for court hearings is a prerequisite of this post. The role presents the opportunity to work on complex and meaningful cases impacting children's welfare. The successful applicant will join a collaborative and professional legal environment. The team benefits from a great deal of administration support, enabling solicitors to focus on the care cases. Key Requirements: Must be a Solicitor, Barrister, or FILEX with litigation accreditation. Candidates must hold a current practising certificate and have a proven experience handling childcare law cases independently. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of children's social care legislation, including: Care proceedings Pre-proceedings (PLO) Emergency protection orders Special guardianship Secure accommodation Deprivation of liberty AdoptionIf you meet the above criteria and are available for locum work, we'd love to hear from you.
