Sellick Partnership are pleased to be working with a well-regarded local authority based in Sussex, to assist in recruiting a Locum Planning Lawyer to start in October 2026. This role is a maternity leave cover and will last a duration of 10 months.
About the Locum Planning Lawyer role:
- Taking on varied case load including section 106 agreements, highways agreements, planning enforcement
- Full time
- At least one day per fortnight office based (fixed or varied), rest of time can be remote working
- Some committee attendance may be required
- 10 months cover (9 months for maternity leave plus annual leave/bank holiday entitlement)
- Part of a friendly team of planning lawyers with a variety of skills and levels of experience
- Flexible pay rate
The ideal candidate for the Locum Planning Lawyer role will:
- Have at least 5 years' post-qualification experience in planning law
- Have relevant local authority experience; experience within a county council would be preferable
- Have experience in attending planning committees
