Development Management (Planning) Initial 6 Month Contract, with a view for extension Oxfordshire, UK £Competitive Day Rate. Sellick Partnership is proud to assist a local authority in the Oxfordshire area in seeking an experienced Technical Support Team Leader to join its Development Management/ Planning division. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing a planning technical support function and ensuring the smooth, compliant and efficient operation of Development Management processes.
The postholder will play a central role in team leadership, systems oversight and supporting complex planning workflows.
Key responsibilities of Technical Support Team Leader includes:- Leading and managing a Development Management Technical Support Team of six direct reports, including Technical Support Assistants and Graduates
- Overseeing validation, registration and administration of planning applications
- Ensuring statutory compliance, data quality and accurate planning publications
- Supporting performance management, reporting and service improvements
- Acting as a senior technical point of contact within the planning service
- Contribute to planning system optimisation and digital improvements
- Proven experience within Development Management technical support in a local authority
- Experience leading, supervising or coordinating a planning technical/admin team
- Excellent understanding of planning processes, workflows and statutory requirements
- Confidence working in a fast-paced local authority planning environment
- Working knowledge of MasterGov / DEF or similar systems
- Experience with other planning systems such as Uniform, i-Clipse or similar
- Exposure to service improvement or system enhancement projects
