Sellick Partnership are assisting our Bristol based client with the recruitment of a Senior Building Surveyor where you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving school buildings and educational facilities.

Daily duties of the Senior Building Surveyor:

  • Deliver high‑level technical work across building maintenance and compliance.
  • Maintain properties to ensure they remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
  • Act as an internal consultant, managing repairs, maintenance and refurbishment projects.
  • Fulfil Planning Supervisor/Designer duties under CDM regulations.
  • Carry out condition surveys, create maintenance plans and agree priorities with senior stakeholders.
  • Apply asbestos awareness knowledge, including risk identification and emergency procedures.
  • Manage revenue and capital budgets, specify works, raise orders and ensure full year‑end spend.
  • Oversee project work and coordinate support staff.

Essential requirements of the Senior Building Surveyor:

  • A qualification suitable for Corporate Membership of the CIOB or equivalent.
  • Senior-level project management experience in building repair, refurbishment, and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of building contracts, financial control, and CDM regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Experience with NEC4, SFG20, FastDraft, Concerto, and CAD software is desirable, as is familiarity with public sector and local authority procedures.
