We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of technology and business change initiatives across the organisation. This is a 14-month fixed-term contract.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, suppliers and delivery teams, you will take ownership of projects from initial conception through to implementation, business-as-usual handover and benefits realisation. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities as the IT Project Manager:
- Lead end-to-end project delivery across technology and business change initiatives, using Agile, Waterfall or hybrid approaches.
- Define scope, objectives, deliverables, plans, budgets and timelines, whilst coordinating teams and resources to maintain momentum and achieve agreed milestones.
- Drive effective project governance and control, proactively managing risks, issues, dependencies, budgets and change.
- Provide clear and accurate reporting to project sponsors and senior stakeholders, ensuring robust decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build strong stakeholder and supplier relationships, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders, project sponsors, delivery teams and external partners.
- Manage expectations, facilitate effective communication and support informed decision-making at all levels.
- Deliver successful implementation and transition, ensuring projects are effectively implemented and handed over into business-as-usual operations.
- Coordinate operational readiness, training, documentation and benefits realisation activities.
- Support continuous improvement and transformation, identifying opportunities to improve processes, ways of working and project delivery effectiveness.
- Share knowledge, promote best practice and contribute to wider organisational change and transformation initiatives.
Experience Needed as an IT Project Manager:
- Proven Project Management experience with the Legal, Financial or Professional Service sectors.
- Proven experience working as a Project Manager, ideally delivering technology, business change or transformation projects within a complex organisation.
- Strong experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from initial conception and business case development through to implementation, handover and benefits realisation.
- Experience using Agile, Waterfall and/or hybrid project delivery methodologies, with the ability to adapt the approach to suit the project and organisational environment.
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk and issue management, financial control, dependencies, change control and project reporting.
- Demonstrable experience of managing and influencing senior stakeholders, project sponsors, suppliers and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain delivery momentum.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
- Experience supporting business cases, benefits tracking, implementation, operational readiness and continuous improvement.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to identify challenges early and take ownership of delivering solutions.
What the successful IT Project Manager will receive:
- Salary between £55,000 and £58,000 pro rata
- Flexible Hybrid working model between home and working out of the office based in Bristol
