We are currently supporting a well-respected local authority in the South West with the appointment of an experienced Interim Director of Legal. This is an initial 6-month interim role, with the potential to extend while the authority completes its permanent recruitment process. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will provide senior leadership across a broad corporate services remit, including:
- Legal Services
- Democratic and Member services
- Elections, Registrars and Coroner services
- Information Governance
- Scrutiny, policy and committee support
- Executive Office, complaints and business support
This is a key leadership role for someone with strong local authority experience, sound political awareness and the ability to provide confident advice at senior officer and member level.
