We are currently recruiting a Mobile General Maintenance Operative (GMO) to support a public sector contract based in Leeds. This is a hands-on role carrying out planned and reactive fabric maintenance, with responsibility for first-response repairs and site support.
Key Responsibilities of the General Maintenance Operative role:
- Planned and reactive maintenance across the fabric and limited engineering assets
- Repairs to floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, furniture, and fittings
- Painting, decorating, and general upkeep
- First response to toilets, leaks, and blockages
- Legionella duties, including tap temperature checks and flushing
- Plant room inspections and AHU filter changes
- Escorting contractors and monitoring works on site
- Updating CAFM systems and closing PPM/reactive tasks in line with SLAs
- Following all health & safety procedures, including RAMS and PPE
- Assisting engineering teams as required
The successful General Maintenance Operative will have:
- Good knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and/or painting & decorating
- Detail-focused with high standards of workmanship
- Full UK driving licence
- NVQ (or equivalent) in Plumbing, Carpentry, or Decorating (desirable)
