Overview of the Employment Solicitor role

Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded law firm seeking an Employment Solicitor to join its specialist employment team. The successful candidate will manage Employment Tribunal matters from start to finish, provide commercial employment advice to clients, and support corporate transactions on employment-related issues.

Key responsibilities of the Employment Solicitor will include:

  • Managing Employment Tribunal claims from initial instructions through to final hearings
  • Preparing and drafting Employment Tribunal documentation, including Claims, Responses, Lists of Issues, Witness Statements, Skeleton Arguments and settlement approval applications
  • Advising clients on employment contracts, workplace policies, disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy processes and family-friendly rights
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through practical, commercially focused advice

Required experience of the Employment Solicitor position will include:

  • Qualified Solicitor with experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law
  • Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to client advice
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of legal developments, case law and employment legislation
