An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate or Senior Associate to join a highly regarded Commercial team within a leading professional services organisation. The team advises a broad range of clients across both the public and private sectors, supporting strategic commercial projects, complex contractual arrangements and day-to-day business operations. As an Associate / Senior Associate, you will:

  • Advise clients on a wide range of commercial contracts, from business-as-usual agreements through to high-value, long-term strategic arrangements
  • Support clients across a variety of sectors including transport, infrastructure, utilities, engineering, manufacturing and other commercial industries
  • Provide commercial contract support on corporate transactions, real estate projects and wider business initiatives
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple teams and locations to deliver integrated client solutions
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery
  • Participate in business development activities, including preparing client briefings, articles and thought leadership content
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the team

Required Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • 2-6 years' PQE with a strong foundation in commercial contract law
  • Experience advising on a variety of commercial agreements and contractual arrangements
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and technical legal skills
  • An understanding of key legal, commercial and operational risks affecting contractual relationships
  • Awareness of specialist areas that may impact commercial contracts, including employment matters, data protection, competition law and regulatory considerations
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Experience building and maintaining successful client relationships
  • A commercial mindset and enthusiasm for business development activities

For Senior Associate applicants, experience supervising, mentoring or supporting junior colleagues would be advantageous, alongside involvement in client development initiatives and networking activities.
