Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for an experienced Associate Director - People Services to join our public sector client on an interim basis for 3 months. This role is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 1 day a week onsite, in Peterborough.

Responsibilities

  • The Associate Director - People Services will lead and manage the People Services functions within the wider Workforce and OD function for the organisations.
  • Deputise for the Deputy Chief People Officer providing professional leadership and strategic focus to all members of the Workforce and OD function, ensuring the delivery of the organisation's objectives.
  • Work closely within the organisation's executive team, divisional leadership teams and HR/OD senior management teams to ensure their involvement and understanding of HR services information systems, policies and procedures.
  • Draft reports to present at board level and committees to share highly complex, sensitive or contentious information.
  • Communicate with system partners to ensure the achievement of performance targets and strategic objectives.
  • Implement mechanisms to deliver widespread stakeholder engagement, partnership working and effective consultation.
  • Facilitate briefings and partnership working, ensuring the delivery of key national, regional and local priorities to promote the wider objectives of transformational change.
  • Analyse, review and audit services provided by the HR people services team to ensure best practice and optimum service delivery to agreed KPIs.
  • Lead and develop the organisation's approach to effective employee and staff side relations.
  • Review organisation wide processes and procedures to seek better ways of working and improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyse complex and detailed reports to monitor performance against KPIs and strategic goals, taking corrective actions where necessary.
  • Analyse data and review processes to identify and draft proposals for improved ways of working and new systems, to secure funding and a mandate for trust wide change.
  • Develop short, medium and long term workforce systems strategy and business plans to ensure systems and processes are efficient as possible, delivering the best value for money now and in the future.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure value for money and take corrective action.
  • Maintain a key strategic focus by effectively identifying, analysing and prioritising risks/issues external to the allocated projects and work streams and reconcile these within internal priorities.
  • Manage resource levels across all work streams, reallocating resources and reprioritising tasks to meet fluctuating demands.
  • Oversee the Workforce Systems Programme plan, ensuring relevant projects are delivered to timeframe and budget.
  • Ensure all areas of Workforce planning are reviewed and assessed, identifying risks and issues and taking corrective or avoidance actions as required.

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 7 qualified or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
  • Experience of working within the NHS or similar organisation.
  • Experience of planning, managing and delivering complex program of projects in a change management environment.
  • Experience in influencing and challenging at executive level with credibility and confidence.
  • Experience in performance management, workforce planning, talent management, and organisational development.
