Sellick Partnership Ltd are assisting a well-established housing organisation with the recruitment of a Leasehold Officer to manage a wide portfolio taking full responsibility for leasehold management.

Job responsibilities for the Leasehold Officer:

  • Your main purpose as a Leasehold Officer will be to manage a portfolio of leasehold, freehold and shared ownership properties, taking full responsibility for leasehold management and providing specialist advice to our customers both internally and externally.
  • You will confidently lead on the scrutinising and management of service charge enquiries, investigating and remedying lease breaches, handling lease extension claims alongside our legal teams and acting as a point of contact for other lease specific enquiries and processes.
  • Provide specialist advice on lease covenants, subletting, alterations and lease variations.
  • Provide expert leasehold advice on clauses pertaining to leases, covenants and demised areas and leaseholder rights and responsibilities.
  • Support our Leasehold Admin Officer with consents where necessary and take appropriate enforcement action when required for breach of lease covenants.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • You'll be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in both leasehold and shared ownership products, together with an understanding of the legislation affecting these customers (in particular the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002, Landlord and Tenant Act and Building Safety Act 2022).
  • You'll have demonstrable knowledge and experience of applying Leasehold law relating to assignments, consents, enfranchisement, lease extensions, breach of covenants and service charges.
  • You'll need to be able to deal with difficult, sensitive and challenging behaviour and situations in a calm and professional manner, whilst using your initiative to problem solve.
