The Role

Sellick Partnership are happy to be working with a top law firm to support their search for a qualified litigation solicitor to join their fantastic Debt Control team. This role is focused on the recovery of the firm's debt only where you will work closely with the wider team and members of the senior leadership team. They are market leading in regards debtor days and cash collection and therefore you would be joining a slick team but also one that enjoys a great relationship with their wider client services team to make this a real team environment.

The role will include:

  • Supporting Client Service Directors (CSDs) to reduce lock up days and improve cash-flow by working with fee earners to seek the payment of their invoices in a timely fashion.
  • Talking to fee earners across the business to collate information and receive feedback about unpaid invoices.
  • Reporting on status of unpaid invoices to CSDs and working on actions arising from this reporting.
  • Where appropriate raising Letters Before Action (LBA) in respect of unpaid invoices.
  • Contact with clients during the recovery process.
  • Progression towards issuing proceedings when LBAs fail to produce payment of invoices and either (i) owning proceedings until payment or (ii) dealing with proceedings when they are contested.
  • Working with other members of the team and the wider business to put in place and follow standard processes around the recovery of their invoices.

The Candidate

The key skills we are looking for include:

  • Qualified solicitor, specialising in debt recovery litigation
  • Minimum of 3 years' PQE
  • Strong commercial awareness and solutions driven mindset
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Being a team player
