Sellick Partnership are proud to be recruiting for a SEN tribunal officer/ Education Lawyer to join a well-respected local authority in the North West on a locum basis for 6 months, with a likelihood of it being extended beyond that. This role is to manage a backlog of SEN tribunals, so experience in tribunals is preferred.
The authority has seen a huge rise in SEN work, so someone with experience in SEN matters who would be able to hit the ground running is desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of complex cases, comprising mainly SEN admission appeals, with minimum supervision
- Independently fulfil all functions involved with SEND First-tier Tribunals
- Representing the Local Authority at hearings
- Handle a substantial caseload, often working to strict deadlines and on short notice
The successful SEN tribunal officer/ Education Lawyer will ideally be able to undertake this role on a full-time basis; however, candidates seeking a part-time working pattern will be considered.
