Sellick Partnership is delighted to be working in partnership with the shared Legal Team for South Warwickshire. Stratford on Avon and Warwick District Councils have a joint legal services offering. The legal team provides the full range of legal services across both authorities.

As a housing litigation lawyer, you will work in the Planning & Regulatory Team and will specialise in public sector housing law, housing disrepair claims and general civil litigation, including housing litigation. Candidates must have a strong and demonstrable background in housing litigation, including advocacy at Magistrate's Courts. This is a position for an experienced lawyer who is well-versed in all areas of housing law.

As one of 2 housing law specialists for the in-house team, this is a great opportunity for someone seeking autonomy at work. The post is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their career, developing strong working relationships with the client department and running a caseload unaided.

The Legal Team is sizeable and offers a friendly and supportive working environment, with a strong team ethic. This role will support two progressive, ambitious local authorities involved in a range of exciting projects. You will be directly involved in varied and high-quality legal work and make a positive difference to our communities. One of these authorities still has housing stock, so some residential queries may arise.

We welcome applications from experienced housing litigation lawyers (Barristers, Solicitors and Legal Executives), but we will also consider people with the commitment and ability to develop and grow in these areas of legal practice. Most importantly, we seek applications from enthusiastic and adaptable people who are motivated to use their research and analytical skills to provide practical, solution-focussed legal advice to our internal clients.

Local government experience is desirable, but we welcome applications from people from all parts of the legal sector. We will accept applications from qualified solicitors, barristers and fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives.

Offices are based in the centre of historic Stratford upon Avon. This client embraces flexible, agile working arrangements including home working. All I. and necessary equipment will be provided by the end client.

For an informal discussion, or to apply for this post, please contact Kate Jasper in our Manchester office.

Sellick Partnership is proud to be an inclusive and accessible recruitment business and we support applications from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances.
