London – Full‑time, hybrid (1‑2 days a week in office) – 3 months+ interim

Sellick Partnership is delighted to work with a London based Local Authority to source an interim Head of Commercial to line manage the Planning, Property and Contracts teams with expertise in Planning Law. DMO experience is desired but not required. This role is a key part of a professional legal team delivering legal advice and support to all aspects of the Council’s services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and line‑manage the Planning, Property and Contracts teams.
  • Provide legal advice and support across all Council services.
  • Deliver effective client care and manage difficult situations with confidence.
  • Drive market strategy for the Council’s services.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Current Practising Certificate.
  • Experience in a local government setting.
  • Expertise in Planning Law and Knowledge of Contracts.
  • DMO experience desirable.
  • Strong leadership and team‑building skills.
