Sellick Partnership are pleased to be currently recruiting a Principal Property and Planning Lawyer to join a busy but friendly London Council. Our client is seeking a Principal Property and Planning Lawyer who has experience dealing with either property or planning law in a local authority setting to join their team on a permanent basis. This opportunity is on a hybrid working basis, with a preference for one to two days per week in the office. Our client is ideally seeking someone who is able to work full-time hours but part-time requests will be considered. This role is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced lawyer who ideally has experience in both planning and property law who is looking to expand on their management experience in a collaborative, newly merged team who get a really interesting variety of work.
Key responsibilities of the Principal Property and Planning Lawyer:
- To advise on matters arising in areas of Planning, Property and Regeneration, covering multiple clients, including local authorities' casework which includes complex corporate projects.
- Ensuring the team managed by the post holder operates effectively and efficiently.
- Maintaining client care standards.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with senior client managers.
- Supporting good cross team working with Principal Lawyers from other teams, where appropriate.
Experience/qualifications required for the Principal Property and Planning Lawyer position:
- Must be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx) with a current practicing certificate - all PQE levels will be considered.
- Able to work on a hybrid basis one day per week in the office.
- Our client is ideally seeking someone who is able to work full-time; part-time requests will be considered.
- You must have strong experience in property law and/or planning law ideally from local authority but candidates from other sectors are encouraged to apply.
