A large and well-established local authority in London is seeking an experienced Criminal Litigation Lawyer to join them on a locum basis, this is a 3 month contract initially that is likely to be extended.
The Prosecutions Lawyer will need to hold a caseload of:
- Licensing
- Planning enforcement
- Disabled badge fraud
- Housing Act 2004 appeals
- Regulatory cases and tribunals
The successful Prosecutions Lawyer will have prior experience of line managing a team and will be a specialist in criminal litigation law. Prior local authority experience is advantageous, and you must be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister, CILEx).
This is a hybrid role with office attendance ideally 1 day per week, and court attendance as required. Attendance at licensing committees is desirable.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive)
- Extensive criminal litigation and/or licensing experience
- Management experience
- Experience working in local government or in a firm that deals with such work (strongly desirable)
