Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a rare opportunity for a newly qualified or junior Prosecutions Lawyer to join a well-regarded London Borough Council on a locum basis. Our client is happy to consider candidates for fixed term contract rather than locum if that is of interest.

Our client is looking for a junior Prosecutions Lawyer, ideally with some local authority experience, to join their friendly and welcoming team. This role is offering an initial 3 month locum contract with the opportunity to be extended. Alternatively, there is the option for a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a full-time role and the successful candidate will have to attend the office twice per week and attend court as and when needed. Therefore, this role would suit someone who is able to commute to South London.

The main duties of this role include handling a full caseload of prosecutions matters including:

  • Planning
  • Education
  • Environmental Protection
  • Trading Standards
  • Environmental prosecutions
  • Housing issues

Our client is seeking a Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with previous experience working in local government as a Prosecutions Lawyer. Candidates who have not worked in the public sector but have worked for public sector clients are also encouraged to apply.
