My client is a local authority in the West Midlands that is seeking a property law specialist to join their in-house legal services team on an interim basis. This role provides a lot of autonomy and is suitable for property solicitors with considerable experience and confidence in their chosen area of the law.
The current vacancy lies within the Legal Services Team and is for a lawyer specialising in commercial property transactions. Applicants must be adaptable and self-motivated lawyers for this role, with experience in commercial property work. Additional experience in some standard residential transactions would be beneficial, but these can be picked up whilst in post.
You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/FILEX with a current Practising Certificate or eligible to apply for a Practising Certificate. Previous local government experience is preferred, but candidates with private practice or in-house experience will also be considered. This will suit a proactive solicitor who has a can-do attitude.
You will be directly involved in varied and high-quality commercial property work. The work is incredibly varied and can include standard transactional matters relating to leases and licences, alongside Landlord and Tenant work and larger projects relating to regeneration and housing developments.
This varied caseload may include:
- Commercial Leases
- Community Leases
- Landlord and Tenant
- Lease renewals
- Easements and wayleaves
- Assets of Community Value
- Property Purchases
- Advising on ad hoc queries relating to property law
- Property disposals
