Sellick Partnership is thrilled to be supporting a Local Authority in Essex with recruitment for a permanent Housing Lawyer. This is a full‐time opportunity, which would be well suited to a lawyer with substantial experience in housing disrepair litigation. This is a hybrid working role, with office attendance required twice per week, and court attendance required as needed.

Responsibilities of the Housing Lawyer:

  • Undertaking ownership of a varied and demanding caseload including:
  • A particular focus on disrepair cases, dealing with cases from pre‐litigation through to conclusion of litigation
  • Possession proceedings
  • Closure orders
  • Enforcement actions

Experience required for the Housing Lawyer:

  • A strong understanding of the pre‐action protocol for housing conditions claims and the litigation process is essential
  • Qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive
