About the Childcare Lawyer Role:

Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a locum Childcare Lawyer to join a local authority based in the West Midlands. The role will be for an initial 6 month period with a strong possibility of an extension.

Key Responsibilities of the Childcare Lawyer role:

  • To act as a legal advisor
  • Advise upon and conduct proceedings relating to the care and protection of children
  • To provide legal advice and support services to clients
  • To carry a caseload of predominantly public childcare care proceedings
  • Other cases will include PLO (pre proceedings), adoption matters and a smattering of discharge cases
  • To advocate, when necessary, at the family courts. This tends to be on average once per week.

The role will be a hybrid working arrangement whereby you will need to attend family courts in the West Midlands at in-person hearings on a weekly basis. Candidates must be able to travel to Birmingham courts easily.
