An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Child Care Solicitor with 2-3 years' PQE to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm. The Opportunity
You will manage your own caseload of Child Care matters, representing parents, grandparents, and other family members in often sensitive and complex proceedings. The firm is committed to supporting career development, including opportunities to undertake advocacy and work towards Children Panel accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of Child Care matters from instruction through to conclusion
- Representing parents, grandparents, and other family members in care proceedings
- Conducting advocacy where appropriate or developing advocacy skills with support
- Supervising and supporting paralegals to ensure effective case progression
- Maintaining high standards of case management and compliance with Legal Aid requirements
- Building strong relationships with clients, referrers, and external stakeholders
- Supporting the wider team in achieving departmental objectives and growth
About You
- Qualified Solicitor with approximately 2-3 years' PQE in Child Care Law
- Experience handling care proceedings and publicly funded work
- Strong understanding of Legal Aid processes and requirements
- Advocacy experience or a desire to develop advocacy skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- IT literate with experience using case management systems
- A proactive, personable, and client-focused approach
- Team-oriented with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable clients
