An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join a highly regarded and forward-thinking law firm within its expanding Private Wealth team. This senior position is ideal for a solicitor with 5 years' PQE who is seeking high-quality work, greater autonomy, and the chance to play a key role in the continued growth of a successful practice.
The Role
You will work on a broad range of complex and high-value private client matters, with a particular focus on tax and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families. The role offers exposure to sophisticated cross-border work and multi-jurisdictional estates, as well as opportunities to collaborate closely with senior colleagues on strategic matters.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Advising on complex estate and tax planning, including inheritance tax strategies
- Drafting wills, trusts, LPAs, and related documentation
- Structuring and administering trusts, including those with international elements
- Advising business owners on succession planning and wealth preservation
- Handling matters involving Business Property Relief and Capital Gains Tax planning
- Supporting clients with multi-generational and cross-border wealth arrangements
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members
- Contributing to business development and strengthening client relationships
About You
- Qualified solicitor with 5 years' PQE in Private Client work
- Strong technical expertise in wills, trusts, tax, and estate planning
- Experience working with high-net-worth and internationally mobile clients
- Confident managing complex matters independently
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Commercially aware with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- Experience supervising junior lawyers is desirable
- STEP and/or CTA qualification preferred
