The Role
You will take overall responsibility for the Family department, overseeing private family work exclusively. The role combines hands-on fee earning with leadership, mentoring, and business development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a team of family solicitors and support staff
- Managing a high-quality caseload of private family matters, including divorce, financial remedies, and children work (HNW experience advantageous)
- Setting and delivering the department's strategic and financial objectives
- Driving growth through business development, referrals, and profile-raising
- Maintaining high standards of client care and Legal 500-level service delivery
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor with significant post-qualification experience in private Family Law
- Strong background in complex financial and children matters
- Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience, or clear readiness to step into a head-of-department role
- Commercially minded with a genuine interest in growing a department
- Resolution membership or Law Society Family Panel membership desirable
