Sellick Partnership is excited to be working with a Legal 500 ranked firm in Leeds who are looking for a Commercial Disputes Managing Associate to join their team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and manage complex commercial dispute cases.
  • Work closely with UK and international partners on client matters and business growth.
  • Advise clients on resolving disputes through court, arbitration, mediation, or negotiation.
  • Support and help grow relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with other teams to give practical, business-focused legal advice.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members.
  • Use legal tech and AI tools to improve service and efficiency.
  • Take part in training and development opportunities.
  • Contribute to a friendly, supportive, and high-performing team.

The successful candidate:

  • 5 + years PQE in commercial disputes, ideally within a private practice setting.
  • Confident handling complex cases and resolving disputes.
  • Experience in private practice, ideally with big or high-value cases.
  • Good legal knowledge and a practical, business-focused approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfortable building client relationships and helping grow the business.
  • Able to guide and support junior team members.
  • Open to using legal tech and new ways of working.
  • Motivated, professional, and keen to progress.
