An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Planning Solicitor (NQ-5 PQE) to join a highly regarded and specialist Planning, Environmental, Energy and Regulatory team in Chester. This is a great opportunity for a solicitor looking to work on complex and high-value planning and development matters, advising an impressive client base including developers, landowners, businesses, high-net-worth individuals and public sector organisations.
The Opportunity:
- You'll work directly alongside experienced Partners, gaining early exposure to high-quality work and client relationships while building your own caseload.
- Your workload is likely to include:
- Planning applications, appeals and objections
- Section 106, S38 and S278 agreements
- High Court challenges and Judicial Review
- Planning enforcement, prosecutions and Certificates of Lawfulness
- Compulsory Purchase Orders, village greens and public rights of way
- Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) matters
- Advising across both contentious and non-contentious planning matters
About You:
- NQ-5 years PQE
- Experience in planning law, ideally covering both contentious and non-contentious matters
- Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail
- Confident managing multiple matters and competing deadlines
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Keen to develop within a specialist planning practice
- Environmental, energy or regulatory experience would be advantageous
- Willing to contribute to business development and marketing
