We are currently working with a highly regarded, full-service Legal 500 firm with a strong presence across the South West, which is looking to appoint an experienced Family Associate Solicitor to join its expanding Family team based in either Bath or Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and ambitious department that is recognised in both Chambers and Legal 500 for its high-quality privately funded family work and client-focused approach. The firm is known for its collaborative culture, sector expertise across Agriculture, Banking & Finance, Development of Land, Private Client, and Business Growth, and its commitment to providing a supportive and flexible working environment, including hybrid working.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied caseload of privately funded family law matters, including financial remedy work arising from divorce, private children matters, and disputes involving unmarried couples.
- Providing clear, practical, and high-quality legal advice to clients, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and in line with client expectations.
- Handling files with appropriate supervision where required, while maintaining a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
- Developing strong and trusted relationships with clients and referrers through excellent client care.
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the Family team.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm and contributing to a positive team culture.
- Engaging in networking and relationship-building opportunities across the region and beyond.
The successful candidate:
- A qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE in family law.
- Strong experience in privately funded family matters, including financial remedies and private children work.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and client care skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
- Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proactive and enthusiastic about business development and growing your own profile within the market.
- Strong academic background with a Law degree or equivalent qualification.
