Sellick Partnership is delighted to be working with a leading international professional services and infrastructure business to recruit a Corporate Counsel. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established in-house legal team supporting a large and growing business operating across complex projects and a range of sectors.

Working closely with senior stakeholders and the wider risk function, you'll become a trusted legal adviser to the business, providing commercially focused advice across a broad range of contractual, corporate and operational matters.

Role Overview

This is a broad and varied in-house legal role, offering exposure to commercial contracts, bid and risk management, disputes and wider corporate matters. You'll take responsibility for managing your own caseload while working closely with colleagues across the legal, commercial and operational teams. A key part of the role will involve reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and advising the business on contractual and commercial risk.

Alongside this, you'll support bid and tender activity, manage claims and disputes, and provide advice across a range of other legal and operational matters. The role offers excellent exposure to senior stakeholders and would suit a commercially minded lawyer looking for a broad in-house position within a complex, project-led business.

  • Review, draft and negotiate a range of commercial contracts and other key legal documentation
  • Advise on contractual and commercial risk in relation to bids, tenders and wider business activity
  • Support internal bid reviews and risk management processes
  • Review and negotiate joint venture agreements, confidentiality agreements and other commercial arrangements
  • Manage claims, disputes and litigation, working with external advisers where required
  • Support the business on employment-related issues and commercial property matters where required
  • Conduct legal research and ensure internal legal guidance remains accurate and up to date
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across commercial, operational and leadership teams

Requirements

  • Strong commercial contracts and negotiation experience
  • Experience advising on contractual risk, bids and tenders would be advantageous
  • Previous experience within a professional services, construction, engineering, infrastructure or similarly project-led environment would be beneficial
  • Some exposure to claims, disputes or litigation
  • Comfortable managing a broad and varied legal workload independently
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice
