Sellick Partnership are recruiting an experienced SEND Lawyer to join our Local Authority client on a potentially long-term locum contract. This is a fully remote role.
Duties of the SEND Lawyer will include:
- Provide expert legal advice, representation, and case management on matters relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Support the Council's statutory duties under the Children and Families Act 2014 and related legislation, ensuring lawful, fair, and effective decision-making in the best interests of children and young people.
- Weekly case management with Senior Assessment Officers holding tribunal and mediation casework, supporting and advising on key decisions.
- Triaging tribunal and mediation casework.
- Holding most complex tribunal cases - preparing and attending hearings.
- Providing advice and support across wider SEND team.
We are looking for a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with litigation rights and previous SEND experience. Full and part-time hours will be considered.
