With a significant expansion of its housing portfolio planned over the coming years, the legal team is taking on increasingly varied and complex work. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Housing Solicitor to take on greater responsibility and work closely with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Housing Solicitor will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and representation across landlord and tenant matters such as:
    • Disrepair matters
    • Tenancy breaches
    • Tenancy Fraud
    • Unlawful occupation
    • Failed succession
    • Possession proceedings (including rent arrears and anti-social behaviour cases)
    • Leasehold matters
  • You will also be responsible for:
    • Managing a paralegal and supporting and assisting in the supervision of junior staff as required
    • Represent clients in court, tribunals, and other legal proceedings
    • Monitor a legal inbox and provide legal advice to clients across the business
    • Ensure accurate time recording and file management in accordance with internal procedures

Experience/qualifications required for the Housing Solicitor position

  • Must possess a clean and current Practicing Certificate
  • Proven experience managing a diverse caseload across landlord and tenant matters and knowledge of housing legislation, case law, and the Civil Procedure Rules
  • Demonstrable advocacy experience and strong drafting skills
  • A client-focussed approach
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to providing excellent service
