With a significant expansion of its housing portfolio planned over the coming years, the legal team is taking on increasingly varied and complex work. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Housing Solicitor to take on greater responsibility and work closely with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- The Housing Solicitor will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and representation across landlord and tenant matters such as:
- Disrepair matters
- Tenancy breaches
- Tenancy Fraud
- Unlawful occupation
- Failed succession
- Possession proceedings (including rent arrears and anti-social behaviour cases)
- Leasehold matters
- You will also be responsible for:
- Managing a paralegal and supporting and assisting in the supervision of junior staff as required
- Represent clients in court, tribunals, and other legal proceedings
- Monitor a legal inbox and provide legal advice to clients across the business
- Ensure accurate time recording and file management in accordance with internal procedures
Experience/qualifications required for the Housing Solicitor position
- Must possess a clean and current Practicing Certificate
- Proven experience managing a diverse caseload across landlord and tenant matters and knowledge of housing legislation, case law, and the Civil Procedure Rules
- Demonstrable advocacy experience and strong drafting skills
- A client-focussed approach
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to providing excellent service
