Sellick Partnership is delighted to be working with a London based Local Authority to source an interim Head of Commercial to line-manage the Planning, Property, and Contracts teams whilst also deputising for the Monitoring Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a skilled and welcoming legal team.

As Head of Commercial you will be an integral part of a professional legal team delivering legal advice and support to all aspects of the Council’s services. On offer is a flexible working arrangement, competitive hourly rate, interesting caseload, and a supportive team and environment.

The ideal candidate is someone who can demonstrate strong leadership skills, be confident and robust in managing difficult situations, be a team player, have a flexible approach to work, possess strong client care skills, and be able to market the council’s services effectively and efficiently.

You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with a current Practising Certificate and experience in a local government setting.

Responsibilities
  • Line manage the Planning, Property, and Contracts teams.
  • Deputise for the Monitoring Officer.
  • Deliver legal advice and support across all Council services.
  • Market the Council’s services effectively and efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Solicitor/Barrister/Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Current Practising Certificate.
  • Experience in a local government setting.
  • Strong leadership and client care skills.
