Sellick Partnership are working with a Berkshire based local authority seeking an experienced Interim Head of Democratic Services to support the organisation through a critical period. This role requires someone who can hit the ground running and provide immediate support.
This assignment is ideal for an experienced interim who is comfortable stepping into a high-profile role and making an immediate impact.
The Role- Lead and manage the Democratic Services function
- Quickly pick up and progress an ongoing restructure
- Engage, motivate, and manage the wider team
- Lead and oversee Full Council meetings, ensuring strong governance and statutory compliance
- Act as a key adviser to Members and senior officers
- Significant senior-level experience within Democratic Services in a local authority setting
- Proven track record of operating effectively in complex, political environments
- Confident, resilient, and able to deliver at pace
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Hybrid, with a minimum of 2-3 days per week in the office.
