About the Childcare Lawyer position
Sellick Partnership is thrilled to be assisting a Local Authority in Essex, who are looking to recruit a Childcare Lawyer on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, friendly and forward‑thinking Local Authority, who are looking to expand their team and recruit an experienced childcare solicitor on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- Managing DOL (Deprivation of Liberty) and Secure Accommodation proceedings.
- Drafting applications, case management documents, threshold statements, orders and case summaries as necessary.
- Dealing with S7 and S37 matters.
- Providing advocacy in court.
- Lead and take responsibility for routine and more complex cases as directed by the Principal Lawyer.
- Manage up to three legal assistants, empowering and engaging them to continually improve and deliver successful outcomes.
Experience required
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister.
- Prior experience in childcare law, gained within the public or private sector.
