Sellick Partnership is delighted to be working with a top Legal 500 law firm to recruit an Employment Solicitor to join their Employment, Pensions and Immigration National Service Line based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Employment Solicitor to join a highly regarded team advising a diverse client base across a range of sectors, including healthcare and social care, commercial organisations, and higher education institutions. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters while supporting the continued growth of the practice.
Key responsibilities of the Employment Solicitor will include:
- Managing a varied caseload of employment law matters for a broad range of clients
- Advising clients on complex employment law issues, including disciplinary, grievance, discrimination, whistleblowing and redundancy matters
- Conducting and managing Employment Tribunal litigation from inception through to conclusion
- Providing day-to-day employment law support and strategic advice to clients
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through excellent service delivery
- Supervising and delegating work to junior members of the team where appropriate
- Delivering client training sessions and contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Supporting business development, marketing activities and networking opportunities
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider national employment team
Required experience/qualifications of the Employment Solicitor position will include:
- Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 4 years' PQE in Employment Law
- Experience gained within a reputable private practice firm and/or in-house legal team
- Proven ability to manage Employment Tribunal claims and employment advisory matters with an appropriate level of supervision
- Experience advising large employers on a broad range of employment law issues
- Strong advocacy skills and confidence when representing clients
- Excellent client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience supervising or delegating work to junior team members
- Strong organisational, time management and document management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment
- Previous experience advising clients within regulated sectors would be advantageous
