We are excited to be recruiting a Housing and Civil Litigation Assistant Principal Lawyer to join our Local Authority client's busy but friendly legal team. The role involves a varied caseload including general residential/commercial property advice, disrepair, homelessness, judicial reviews, debt recovery, and other civil litigation work. It is offered on a hybrid working basis, attending the office two days per week and court as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Principal Lawyer and other Assistant Principal Lawyers in managing, developing and improving team performance.
- Advise and manage a complex caseload of housing and civil litigation matters such as homelessness, possessions, disrepair, and general civil litigation.
- Advise on high‑profile and sensitive matters, including senior officers and elected members at council meetings.
- Represent the team in client liaison meetings, providing clear and practical advice to support service delivery.
- Supervise, mentor and support team members, including junior lawyers and legal assistants.
