Role: Principal Accountant (Housing Revenue Account - HRA)
Location: London Borough (Hybrid)
Rate: Β£450 - Β£550 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6 months (with view to extend)

An experienced Principal HRA Accountant is urgently required to lead the housing finance team for a progressive London Borough.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget Management: Deliver the annual HRA budget setting and medium-term financial strategy.
  • Closing of Accounts: Lead the year-end capital and revenue closure for the housing service.
  • Financial Modeling: Maintain and update the 30-year HRA business plan.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide robust financial advice to senior stakeholders and directors.

Candidate Requirements

  • Local Government Expertise: Proven track record in UK municipal housing finance.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of HRA regulations, ring-fencing, and self-financing.
  • Qualifications: CCAB qualified (CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent by experience.
  • Systems Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with local government ERPs.
