The Heavy Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading the planning and optimisation of heavy maintenance activities across the Group. This role requires a strategic and analytical mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage cross-functional collaboration across multiple airline operating companies (OpCos). The postholder will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of group-wide maintenance plans and processes to ensure efficient use of resources and full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Accountabilities:
- Strategic Oversight of Group Maintenance Planning
- Lead the development and monitoring of the Group’s heavy maintenance plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Drive consistency in planning standards, methodologies, and reporting across all maintenance locations.
- Foster collaboration between OpCos to ensure accurate, reliable maintenance data and group-wide alignment.
- Define and track KPIs relevant to heavy maintenance planning and execution, reporting on performance to senior stakeholders.
- Maintenance Scheduling and Resource Optimisation
- Identify cross-site scheduling risks and lead resolution strategies to mitigate disruptions.
- Support local maintenance teams in the implementation of efficient, standardised planning processes.
- Develop and implement strategies that enhance schedule adherence and reduce variability.
- Capacity and Demand Management
- Oversee the analysis of maintenance capacity versus demand to identify operational and strategic risks.
- Guide the development of forecasting models to ensure accurate planning of future maintenance needs.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management regarding resource allocation and capacity adjustments.
- Reporting and Stakeholder Communication
- Produce high-level reporting on performance, risks, and improvement initiatives for senior stakeholders.
- Serve as the key point of contact for internal communications relating to group maintenance planning.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance planning systems and processes.
- Stay informed on emerging industry trends, tools, and regulatory changes, integrating relevant developments into the group’s planning strategy.
- Represent the planning function in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving overall operational efficiency.
