We are looking for a motivated, friendly, and organised Medical Receptionist to join our busy and supportive GP practice team at Selhurst Medical Centre. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and will play an important role in ensuring patients receive a professional and high-quality service. Job responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a polite and professional manner
- Answer incoming telephone calls and deal with patient enquiries efficiently
- Book, amend, and cancel appointments using the clinical system
- Register new patients and update patient records accurately
- Process prescription requests in line with practice procedures
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails, and scanning
- Support clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative tasks
- Ensure patient information is handled confidentially and in accordance with GDPR and NHS policies
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional reception area

Person Specification:
- Previous experience working in a GP practice or NHS environment
- Experience using EMIS Web clinical system
- Experience handling appointments, patient records, and telephone enquiries
- Experience working in a busy customer service or administrative role
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with DocMan, referrals, and prescription processing
- Knowledge of NHS systems and primary care processes
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and GDPR requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
