As the Stock & Operations Department Manager, you will support the retail team by ensuring an accurate and efficient stock operation. Driving the ‘stop the loss’ campaign through effective management of reducing waste.
As the Stock & Operations Department Manager you will:
- Control stock file accuracy. From reducing ‘write offs’ through managing of faulty stock and returns to suppliers, to raising SKU discrepancies with B&M and management teams.
- Achieve stock loss KPIs by effectively implementing action plans and procedures, ensuring audit counts are accurate and count discrepancies are minimised.
- Manage the team to effectively process deliveries and to maintain a high level of security tagging to avoid damage to products.
- Ensure daily communication and feedback to Divisional and Department Managers on stock position and issues around stock holding, including new lines and products.
- Support key stakeholders' accessibility to stock by maintaining high levels of standards in line with company best practice.
- Regularly review stock room layout to maximise stock holding. Liaising with the shop floor team to implement better replenishment solutions for the stockroom, and ensuring fit for audit at any time.
- Manage and lead your team giving regular feedback and coaching. Recognising both talent and development areas, you will create unique plans to progress your team using the tools available.
- Ensure that the department is fully compliant with trading standards, health and safety legislation and all store operating procedures – escape routes & walkways are maintained clear & free of combustible storage, sprinklers not impacted by stock levels, suitable equipment is available in back of house spaces, a formal schedule of ladder checks is undertaken.
