As the Store Operations Manager, you will contribute to optimising store operational performance by ensuring that all front of house and back of house procedures are effective and compliant with Selfridges standards. You will support in measuring and challenging teams around commercial KPIs.
You will support the Head of Retail – Store Operations in building and shaping the retail performance and operations road map at store level whilst always keeping in mind profit optimisation and efficiencies of all retail projects.
Responsibilities- Support the Head of Retail to ensure delivery of payroll budgets on a monthly and annual basis.
- Own tracking OT and temp usage, vacancy rates and team member moves and ensure all reporting is accurate and up to date.
- Work with WFM to ensure payroll hours are optimised and in line with budget and vacancies are managed and recruited for in a timely manner.
- Support the Head of Retail in measuring and challenging productivity including all KPI metrics across both team and payroll productivity.
- Ensure reporting is accurate and actions are managed across all divisions.
- Identify areas of opportunity and share best practice to support the Retail teams to achieve their budgets whilst delivering exceptional experiences for customers.
- Identify risks and opportunities through the analysis of data to maximise profit and extraordinary customer experiences.
- Work with the Head of Retail to plan store and divisional sales and costs forecasts.
- Work with the Head of Retail and retail teams to ensure all GMC and operations budgets are effectively managed.
- Identify risks and opportunities to maximise profit.
- Manage all elements of the store senior leadership team rota and Reflexis information.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with the Department Managers across the divisions, enabling collaboration by supporting and influencing their decision making where relevant.
- Strengthen and develop operational efficiencies across each Division (stock, payroll, operations), collaborating with the Divisional Manager and Operations Managers on a unified approach across both front and back of house.
- Support in tracking and managing all elements of the store supplier funding budgets and brand receivables.
- Work cross functionally with all key stakeholders and teams including Central Operations, Inventory, Finance, WFM.
- Challenge the status quo and not accept the as-is process, always forward thinking and solutions focused.
- Be inquisitive with a questioning style to constantly improve procedures and efficiencies.
- A leader who is naturally committed, enthusiastic and motivational with the ability to lead with purpose with a passion to succeed.
- Experienced in retail leadership and retail operations, with a proven track record of developing and embedding efficiencies, productivity and cost control management.
- Analytical and numerate, able to use data to measure performance and identify areas of improvement with a high standard of accuracy.
- Carefully listen to diverse thoughts, to gain perspective of others and act in a way that incorporates a variety of views.
- Great at influencing and negotiating, whilst building professional, lasting relationships at all levels.
- Highly professional, showing discretion given the confidential and sensitive nature of information they have access to.
- Proficient in all Microsoft packages such as PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experienced in the ability to summarise complex data, giving appropriate actions/solutions.
- Profit - Influence the profit plan for the store by managing divisional costs at store level.
- Payroll - Support building and delivering the store and divisional payroll budgets and revenues.
- GMCs – manage costs at all levels within these budgets.
- Stockloss – support in measuring and challenging the teams around these KPIs.
- Productivity – (both team and payroll) to ensure all targets are met with the SPH as the key top line metric to be delivered store wide.
