Junior Creative Designer

As part of the Creative Vision team, the Junior Creative Designer helps shape the visual direction of the Selfridges brand by supporting the development of creative concepts, visual direction, and graphic design systems across a range of projects, including creative campaigns and masterplans. Combining creativity, strong graphic design skills, visual research, and an awareness of cultural and visual trends, they contribute to compelling creative work that evolves and strengthens the Selfridges brand. Working closely with the wider Creative Vision team and cross‑functional partners, they translate ideas into clear, engaging visual communications, producing presentations, visual assets and supporting creative materials that drive project development and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Creative Vision team in developing the visual direction of the Selfridges brand across schemes, masterplans and a broad range of creative projects.
  • Assist in translating brand strategy into creative concepts, visual territories and graphic design solutions.
  • Design engaging and inspiring presentations that communicate creative concepts for both Selfridges own‑brand projects and brand partner collaborations.
  • Develop presentations, mood boards, visual research and concept materials that effectively communicate creative thinking.
  • Explore typography, imagery, colour, layout and graphic systems to support a variety of creative projects.
  • Conduct cultural, visual and trend research to inform creative direction and concept development.
  • Support the development and delivery of high‑quality creative concepts, visual direction and strategic creative outputs.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across Creative Vision and wider business teams to ensure creative work is delivered to a high standard and on time.

You Will Have

  • A background in graphic design or another visually‑led creative discipline.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.
  • Strong visual literacy, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, engaging and inspiring way.
  • Confidence presenting and communicating creative ideas within team and stakeholder settings.
  • Excellent research, analytical and visual communication skills.
  • A curiosity, cultural awareness and ability to translate insights into creative opportunities.
  • Confidence creating presentations, mood boards, visual research and written proposals that support creative development.
  • Collaborative, organised and an effective communicator with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive, eager to learn and confident contributing within a fast‑paced creative environment.
