The Packaging Production Coordinator plays an important role within the Creative team, supporting the development and delivery of Selfridges branded and own-label packaging across multiple categories and customer touchpoints. Working closely with the Senior Design Manager, Graphic Design team, Buying, Merchandising and external suppliers, this role is responsible for coordinating the packaging production process from concept through to delivery. Combining strong organisation, attention to detail and packaging production knowledge, the Packaging Production Coordinator will help ensure all packaging is delivered to a high standard, aligned to brand guidelines, technical requirements, business objectives and customer experience expectations.
This role supports the creation of packaging that is both creatively impactful and operationally effective — helping bring the Selfridges brand to life through considered, high-quality and sustainable packaging solutions. The role requires a strong understanding of packaging production processes, with specific knowledge of food and retail packaging standards, ensuring all packaging is compliant, fit for purpose and aligned to the quality expectations of Selfridges Selection.
The Packaging Production Coordinator will also contribute to the ongoing development of efficient ways of working across the Creative function — supporting communication, process management and collaboration across teams to ensure projects are delivered smoothly, accurately and on time.
Role Scope & Responsibilities- PACKAGING PRODUCTION & DELIVERY
- Support the coordination of packaging production projects from initial briefing through to final delivery.
- Work closely with the Graphic Design team and wider stakeholders to help develop packaging solutions that align to creative and commercial objectives.
- Coordinate artwork, reprographics, proofing and print production processes across multiple packaging projects.
- Ensure packaging files, specifications and approvals are managed accurately and efficiently throughout the production lifecycle.
- Support print quality checks and approval processes to maintain high production standards.
- Help manage project timelines and key milestones to ensure packaging is delivered on time for launch.
- Work closely with technical and production stakeholders to help ensure packaging is fit for purpose, food safe and aligned to legal, technical and production requirements.
- CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
- Collaborate with Buying, Merchandising, Technical and Procurement teams to support the delivery of packaging projects.
- Work closely with suppliers, printers and production partners to coordinate production requirements and timelines.
- Support communication between internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects progress smoothly.
- Assist in gathering pricing, quotes and supplier information where required.
- Maintain positive working relationships across creative, commercial and production teams.
- PROCESS, ORGANISATION & ADMINISTRATION
- Maintain packaging trackers, specifications, pricing and production documentation.
- Support purchase order and invoicing processes in line with budgets and internal procedures.
- Help ensure packaging information is accurate, accessible and up to date across projects.
- Contribute to improving production processes and ways of working to support efficiency and collaboration.
- Maintain strong organisation across multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
- SUSTAINABILITY & BRAND STANDARDS
- Support the delivery of packaging solutions that align with Selfridges’ sustainability ambitions and brand standards.
- Help ensure packaging is fit for purpose, customer-focused and aligned to legal and technical requirements.
- Maintain awareness of packaging innovation, sustainability developments and production best practice.
- Contribute to maintaining consistency and quality across all branded packaging outputs.
- Experience within packaging production, ideally across food, FMCG or retail own-label packaging.
- Understanding of food-safe packaging requirements, packaging compliance and technical production standards.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, print processes, reprographics and production specifications.
- Experience coordinating artwork, proofing and print production within a packaging environment.
- Understanding of the operational and technical requirements associated with retail and food packaging.
- Experience working with suppliers, printers and technical teams to deliver packaging accurately and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
