Job Introduction

A bit about the role

In this customer facing role, you will build great customer relationships by offering the best possible advice on the alterations of their chosen garment. Furthermore, as an expert in your field, you will use your expertise in garment construction and fabrics to naturally identify customers’ needs and alteration possibilities, further detailing cost and services available.

As a Fitter you will:

  • Work as part of a team, focused on creating a memorable customer experience and ensuring that communication is open and clear.
  • Carry out accurate fittings, by taking note of garment construction and fabric type and being aware of any alteration limitations these may cause.
  • Be inspired by the brands, and keep knowledge of services / prices etc up to date to ensure good customer service.
  • Manage customer feedback, handle customer complaints effectively whilst knowing when to refer them to a manager if necessary.
  • Take pride in ensuring standards are adhered to everyday, keeping all workstations clean and tidy.
  • Understand and follow health, safety and security procedures.
  • Assist in the development of the alteration service to ensure it is utilising leading-edge processes to maintain service levels and expectations of the brand.
  • Communicate openly with customers throughout the fitting process; giving them a clear understanding of the work that will be undertaken, to avoid potential refunds.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, you will be able to positively engage with all types of customers (domestic and international) with varying needs and requirements.
  • Possess strong technical sewing skills.
  • Be team orientated.
  • Be resilient and adaptable, you will take your time to solve problems but also able to thrive at pace within a fast-paced environment, to a high standard.

This role works within a fully flexible rota including weekend working and occasional late nights, depending on the needs of the business.
