We are looking for an exceptional Creative Designer to work with the Senior Brand Design Manager to develop and deliver exceptional creative work at Selfridges.
As part of the Brand Design team, the Creative Designer plays a key role in shaping the visual direction of the Selfridges brand by developing design direction and graphic design systems across a range of projects, including creative campaigns and big brand moments.
Combining creativity, strong graphic design skills, visual research, and an awareness of cultural and visual trends, they contribute to compelling creative work that evolves and strengthens the Selfridges brand.
Working closely with the wider creative and design teams and cross-functional partners, they translate ideas into clear, engaging visual communications, producing design direction, toolkits, visual assets, and supporting creative materials that drive project development and delivery.
This role is suited to a curious, collaborative, and proactive designer with excellent visual literacy, typography skills, and a passion for visual storytelling. They bring fresh perspectives, apply emerging cultural and design insights, and contribute to high-quality creative outcomes across a broad range of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a key role in developing the visual direction of the Selfridges brand across schemes, masterplans, and a broad range of creative projects.
- Translate brand strategy into creative concepts and graphic design solutions.
- Work alongside our store graphics, digital design, and production teams to deliver key campaign moments throughout the year.
- Develop design direction, mood boards, visual research, and concept materials that effectively communicate creative thinking.
- Explore typography, imagery, colour, layout, and graphic systems to support a variety of creative projects.
- Conduct cultural, visual, and trend research to inform creative direction and concept development.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the wider business to ensure creative work is delivered to a high standard and on time.
You Will
- Have a background in graphic design with experience working in an in-house design team or an agency setting.
- Have a high level of skill and interest in typography.
- Be highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Some video/motion experience would be beneficial.
- Demonstrate strong visual literacy, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, engaging, and inspiring way.
- Be confident presenting and communicating creative ideas within team and stakeholder settings.
- Have excellent research, analytical, and visual communication skills.
- Be curious, culturally aware, and able to translate insights into creative opportunities.
- Be confident creating presentations, mood boards, visual research, and written proposals that support creative development.
- Be collaborative, organised, and an effective communicator with strong attention to detail.
- Be proactive, eager to learn, and confident contributing within a fast-paced creative environment.
