THE ROLE
We’re looking for a smart and motivated individual to take on the role of Technical SEO Executive within a scaled SEO & GEO team that spans both Leeds and London. Within the role you will support with analysis, reporting, insights, and optimisation across a diverse and exciting portfolio of agency clients. Specifically, you will be responsible for delivering core Technical SEO & GEO deliverables, including crawl audits, addressing indexation and accessibility issues, and keyword research etc. To deliver against these tasks you will have access to a suite of proprietary and leading third‑party SEO tools, including Accuranker, SEMRush, Lumar, ScreamingFrog, etc., as well as first‑party platforms, i.e. Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Extensive training will be provided by the wider team of AM’s and AD’s to ensure you have the right knowledge and support to succeed in this role.
A head for numbers and analytics will be important, as will strong organisation skills given you will be working multiple clients and teams across Havas Market. While principally a technical SEO & GEO role, it would be beneficial for this person to have a desire to learn about SEO & GEO in its entirety, as we seek to further integrate our scaled team / offering in the UK to drive enhanced service and performance for our clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn to confidently and proficiently manage, investigate, analyse crawl & log files from tools such as Screaming Frog, custom crawlers, and client extractions.
- Able to contribute and support on the delivery of accurate and comprehensive audits, with a clear view of the issues discovered and relevant recommendations to rectify.
- Gain basic understanding of HTML and CSS, etc.
- Acquire working knowledge of core SEO & GEO tools, including Ahrefs, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, Lumar, GA4, Google Search Console etc.
- Ensure recommendations are based on clear and robust data analysis using the tool suite provided.
- Develop a good understanding of consumer search behaviour for clients and verticals.
- Strive to improve performance with reasoned, logical technical suggestions.
- Understand the role technical SEO plays in GEO and work with your manager to create relevant recommendations for clients in this space.
- Adhere to the strategic plan and roadmap of technical activity devised for by your manager for each of your assigned clients.
- Assist with reporting for your client set – whether this is BAU or for larger client meetings, i.e. QBRs.
- Utilise proprietary AI technology for efficient task delivery where appropriate.
- Be comfortable presenting your work and results to internal teams, and even clients if necessary.
- Join client calls as appropriate and once confident contribute to regular reporting meetings.
- Prepare presentation material for client calls and meetings as required by your line manager and/or client service team.
- Ensure you learn, and have a good grasp of, our agency best practice to ensure the work you deliver aligns to these high standards.
- Over time, work with your line manager to ensure you’re able to feed into roadmaps and can input into strategic recommendations for clients.
- Be confident to raise issues to management or flag concerns internally when required.
- Deliver work within the deadlines and the SLA’s laid out within client scopes and as determined by your line manager.
- Learn to utilise AI platforms to increase performance outputs.
- Proactively monitor industry developments to ensure your SEO & GEO knowledge remains up to date.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous knowledge or basic understanding of SEO/GEO desirable but not essential as we will provide all necessary training.
- Good numerical and analytical skills, Comfortable with large data sets and complex problems; you must have a working knowledge of Excel etc.
- Interest in web analytics and an ability to use data to back arguments.
- Good communicator – written and verbal, with the ability to convey work and results effectively.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
